Ray Johnson
Ray was born in Chicago and has been a life-long resident of the Chicagoland area. He is also a life-long enthusiast of Chicago history, legends, folklore and haunts. He is a former gang/narcotics investigator and police instructor with the West Chicago Police Department in Du Page County and upon leaving police work, started his own historical and genealogical research company at www.historycop.com , He is also the Chicago Area Chapter Representative for the Association of Professional Genealogist http://apgen.org . Ray grew up in a “haunted” house in Cicero, IL and in 2009 started work on a book that tied together his interest in the paranormal with his love for Chicago history and his skills as a criminal investigator. The book, “Chicago’s Haunt Detective”, was published by Schiffer Publishing out of Atglen, PA and was released in July of 2011. Ray maintains his paranormal detective web presence at www.hauntdetective.com Ray has a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and currently lives in Brookfield, IL
